My Role

Visual Design

Objective:

FurnitureDealer.Net wanted to bridge the gap between the in-store and online shopping experiences for local brick-and-mortar furniture retailers. The goal was to create an app that allows shoppers to keep track of and learn more about each piece of furniture they like during their search.

Process:

I collaborated with 5+ people to create the design for this app.

  • I met with the leadership team to understand and implement their vision.
  • I created many iterations of the app design and presented them to the President for feedback.
  • I created and saved graphic assets in the appropriate format for mobile apps and delivered them to the development team with an intuitive folder structure and straight-forward naming conventions.
  • I utilized Material Design guidelines to ensure a simple and intuitive experience.
  • I used Illustrator do design a logo and icons.

Deliverables:

  • UI Design
  • UX Design
  • Wireframes
  • App Design
  • Photoshop
  • Logo Design

Outcome

I was able to help create an app that helps people easily document all of their favorite pieces of furniture by using their phones’ camera, GPS and network capabilities. Future versions will utilize a digital furniture database which will allow shoppers to scan a tag on a piece of furniture and pull up stats.
